Thin crescent Moon

The thinnest crescent Moon I have seen personally: 17.310 hours.

Shot yesterday just after sunset, when the Moon was just a few degrees above the western horizon at Comanche Springs Astronomy Campus near Crowell, Texas.

Ben Hudgens spotted it, then alerted Tom Monahan, who showed it to me using binoculars. You could not see it without optical aid.

I then made this photo by holding my LG Lucid smartphone over the eyepiece of my Celestron CR150 refractor.
