Night view looking across the Seine toward the Eiffel Tower from near the Louvre

I'm not actually sure where along the riverbank this would have been, but somewhere close to the Louvre sounds right.

 

That beacon light atop the Eiffel Tower is a beam that rotates like a lighthouse, to help the airships steer clear of the boulders of the skies, that which we call skyscrapers.
