Kokoda, PNG

I regularly visit the Kokoda area of PNG, not to walk the track but to visit friends and take photos. It's a safe and beautiful area where you are made to feel very welcome.

I always stay at the villages associated with the Kokoda Homestay co-operative (kokodahomestay.com).

Unfortunately most foreign visitors rush past Kokoda in their haste to "conquer" the Kokoda Track which is a pity, because they are missing their chance to enjoy and learn from these most hospitable and friendly people.
