header
- toned down the text colour
- thinking about centering the title image
- thinking about degrading the image more to reduce the size again
left hand side
- adding some more info on the LH container
- tweaking the content
- added FIND ~ stuff you quickly want to work out what the sites about
- added NEW ~ things that you want noticed quickly
centre
- added 2 different types of posts, articles and snips.
- the difference is really the size of the post. Articles have headings, summaries, bodytext, tags, links. While snips can consist of a minimum of some body text only.
- I'm going to change this to summary at some stage. I tend to add lots of snips to say flickr, news.ycombinator.com/user?id=bootload, twitter or google groups rather than longer blog posts to my blog.
- a post has a title + date shown (with full date & permalink at the bottom)
- a snip has a summary + time shown (with full date & permalink at the bottom)
- the reason a full post has a date is because it's really not time dependent. I might work on the post over hours or days.
- the reason a snip has a time stamp is because it represents a snapshot of time when I posted the text, comment etc.
right hand side
- things that change over time, posts, snips, urls & other blocks
- a post includes a title, link, summary, bodytext, maybe tags
- a snip might just be 140 chars of text
- urls are related to posts & snips. a post has a url, a snip may have a url
- the post list now contains only posts. In reality I'm just filtering out snips so for any number of posts there maybe an equal number of snips. A quick check of 100 posts revealed 75/100 are full posts and 25/100 snips are found. So it's about 3/4 to 1/4 full posts to snips.
