This is within the USSR's Economic Achievement Exhibition (VDNKh).
Built in the 1930s for propaganda purposes, it has been added to over the years by generations of Soviets. Funds were apparently cut off in the early 90s (probably when they realised that even the title of the place had always been a bit of an oxymoron)
It contains the most amazing communist kitsch I’ve ever seen! Although still standing, many of the exhibition buildings have now been turned into horrid warehouse shops filled with cheap Chinese goods. It's now as much a meca for the wrongs of capitalism as it ever was to the ‘triumphs’ of communism.
