I watched these two wolves look for dinner one evening near the Blacktail Ponds area of Yellowstone National Park. One of them has a pretty bad case of mange and it was very sad to see it have difficulty even with simple tasks. The healthy wolf would occasionally show its affection with some licks and patiently waited for the unhealthy one whenever it struggled.
Winter in Yellowstone can be pretty harsh.
