Recontres d'Arles
Those who read a previous post have noticed that this year I went to two photo festivals in France. One was the Photojournalism Festival in Perpignan while the other was the Photography Festival in Arles called Les Recontres d'Arles. The two festivals are very different, both equally impressive and inspirational.
Now I just want to draw your attention to the Festival in Arles. Probably you have much better internet connection than me, so do explore the above link. Every year you can submit your work (I think max 5 photos) to a jury of professionals who will give you feedback and directions, make a selection of the works submitted and display them during the festival. I have to say that the work of the "amateur" photographers was very impressive and I was very happy to recognize one of my flickr contacts amongst the selected authors. And actually, many of my contacts would belong there!
