At this point the tunnel splits; on the right are the sweeping curves of the spillway, and on the left are these- the dam's emergency release valves. This is the only shot I got of this side of the tunnel, for reasons that will be explained shortly.

 

Again, for scale: the bright points of light in the bottom half of the shot are headlamps.
