Diving statistics 2009
96 dives in 2009. Should have and wanted to break the 100 mark. Haven't tracked dives per year, but I believe 96 in 2009 is a record for me. Might beat that this year with a drysuit. Not many diving holidays planned for 2010 though )-: Holidays add up quicker.
Learnt this year:
- Great diving in the Netherlands in July and August. You really need to make the most of it during those months. April 2009 was a cold affair with little life.
- When you're unsure which creature / critter you've discovered DOUBLE CHECK and verify. I missed out a rare shot of a juvenile dragonet, because I thought it was a juvenile bullrout. Never take juveniles for granted. Make the best of your photography as it might be the last juvenile or specimen in general you'll see for a long time!
- Dive when the subjects are "hot". Certain weeks of the year will yield best results for photography. Make the most of the dives in those weeks. Plan your animal.
