Maine-00148 - Squirrel Point Lighthouse

PLEASE, NO invitations, graphics or self promotions, THEY WILL BE DELETED. My photos are FREE to use, just give me credit and it would be nice if you let me know, thanks.

It is one of four navigational aids dating back to 1895 along the Kennebec River's 17.7 kilometer (11 mi) stretch between the Atlantic Ocean and Bath, Maine.

The tower is an octagonal wood-frame structure, with the lantern house topped by a ventilator and surrounded by an iron railing and wooden bracketed gallery.

The main reason I really want to go to this lighthouse was the fact it has red glass around the lantern room.
