Pat and I went with a group of people from Grove of the Other Gods down to Point Pleasant to see the sun come up over the ocean. It was cold and overcast and dark. With us we brought the candle that we kept lit through the whole long dark. Pat had to protect it on the beach because of the wind. When the sun did come up, we couldn't see it -- there were too many clouds. But we did see the sky and the ocean change color, from slate grey to the color of dark wine.
