The above is a slight variation of the official NASA caption for the ‘wheels down’ version of the image, hence the minimalism.
I’m sure of Rockwell Int'l origination. In fact, the low resolution black & white photo of Sol Dember in his home studio, at the following link:

appears to show this work, or the below linked, at the upper left border of the image. Mr. Dember was a long-time premier artist employed by NAA/Rocketdyne, NAR & Rockwell International.
Although the photo was obviously used for press purposes, I’m sure it was originally of either Rockwell Int’l and/or NASA origin. It’s weight/feel are commensurate with such, so, along with the time-frame, confirmed by the stamped date, I don’t know what the “VELOX” stamp is about. Maybe some sort of remnant/legacy newspaper publication identification WRT black & white photos of yore.
