This is pretty cool...I was hoping to spot one of these guys. London has this radical idea that you shouldn't be allowed to drive a cab until you can prove that you actually know how to find your way around the city. So first, you must undertake The Knowledge, studying the surface transit system by zipping around town on a motorcycle with a clipboard full of notes and placenames.
In Boston, there's a similar system...except it's called "The Vague Sense That It's Probably South Of Kenmore Square; Actually, I Think I'll Head Down Beacon Street And Keep Driving Until The Fare Says 'I Think We've Just Passed It.'"
