La Boca is located in the city's south-east near its old port. It has been in the past the first place of landing for the immigrants coming from Europe, mostly Italians from Genoa. It retains a strong European flavor; many of the residents are of mixed European descent. Mainly Italian, Spanish, German, French, Arab and Basque.
