Memories

These stockings are different from last years. I gave last years away as a donation to the library at my school because I put too much foundation in them. This year, these stockings only have muslin inside them, and I like them much better. The little Christmas tree hanging on top of the stocking I made five years ago. I used a cinnamon stick, and it is still one of my favorite ornaments.

We use to live in AZ , so the chilli pepper tree and saguaro cactus remind me of a different time in our lives. No Texas doesn't grow these cacti. We just claim them.

I uses my last Jelly Roll of Merry and Bright fabric, and I love this holiday fabric. Last year I only had four sad irons, but this year I have six irons. The sad iron idea came from Country Home Magazine December 2008, which is no longer published.

I also decided to keep my vintage pitchers on the mantle. They belonged to our grandmothers' Ethel and Ella. The large hand saws on the wall belong to my hubby's grandfather Joyce and ironically Bart used these as a kid with his grandfather.
