Created by Victor Cusack, the sculpture is located in the Pymble Soldiers Memorial Park, Mona Vale Road, Pymble, to the left of the main entrance gate.
The plaque beneath the sculpture is inscribed: Mayor Alderman Richard Lennon Chairman Bicentennial Committee; Alderman A. P. Hall. Sculpture Victor Cusack 1987.
The park is on the cnr. of Mona Vale Road, Pearce Avenue and Riddles Lane, Pymble.
Captain Arthur Phillip, during his exploration of the the land north of Sydney, passed through the Ku-ring-gai area in April 1788.
