Green Power
A very small part of the wind farm off the North Wirral and North Wales coasts together with a maintenance barge. The continuous expansion of the farm is locally controversial due to the change it makes to the sea view. I have also seen research that claims the farms contribute to global warming because the turbines increase the coefficient of friction of the sea surface.
My personal view is that they are on a par with solar and preferable to nuclear and especially the burning of fossil fuels. One technology I would prefer is seabed tidal power as being trialled in the Bristol Channel. The alternative to electricity generation is going off-grid. This might work for a few dozen people in Pembrokeshire, but the thought of 60,000,000 people trying to live off-grid in the UK is too horrific to contemplate.
