People pick through the rubble and remove any valuables from the 1700 year-old town of Dachang. The town was famous for poets and art has been left in ruins with only two ancient houses left that will be relocated brick by brick to the newly built Dachang New Town.The contruction of the Three Gorges Dam and rise in water level of around 100 meters has resulted in the relocation of around 1.5 million people. All of their homes have been destroyed.
