Before I was famous

Yesterday CSX did an amazing job of celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Clinchfield's annual Santa Claus train, by repainting F7 800 into its former Clinchfield colors. It certainly celebrated the history, and time honored tradition bringing smiles to many children along the CRR with a visit from Old Saint Nick. Back in October 2012, I was returning to Romney, W. Va after spending 2 days on a Carl Franz charter with the WMSR 734 under screaming foliage and dome skies. I was headed to the W&W the next day and figured I'd stop by Romney, W.VA to see about a night shot of "C&O" 8016. As I began to set up, the owner of the engine appeared and graciously started it up and worked the lights for a quick night shot. The 8016's regular assignment was hauling tourists on the SBVR's "Potomac Eagle". Little did anyone realize the dream of seeing this engine at "Streamliners in Spencer" in 2014, nor did they ever imagine seeing this old girl restored to its former glory of Clinchfield 800.
