1966 Undefeated Irish Football Team

Led by two All-South Jersey standouts and 15 All-Parochial players, the new Camden Catholic High School campus in Cherry Hill celebrated it first unbeaten and untied football season when its 1966 gridmen brushed aside nine straight opponents on its way to the South Jersey Parochial A Championship.

Coached by Jim Delaney, who was inducted into this Hall of Fame in 2009, these Irish gridders became only the third CCHS team to post a 9-0 record. The legendary Tom Kenney – an original Hall inductee in 2007 -- inspired his 1949 team to that pinnacle, and his successor, Hank Deighan, guided the 1961 squad to the second perfect season.
