Pentacon Penti II

It is hard to believe that this glamorous camera was designed and built by Pentacon in the former DDR. The design features a striking textured gold body. Everything matches, the lens barrel, the various control rings, fantastic really!

The Penti II is a half-frame camera and features a Meyer Optik Domiplan 30/3,5. The big difference with other half-frame cameras is that the camera has a built-in selenium meter that has no auto function; just there to help you with a match needle, you are in charge of the speeds and apertures, very neat. Also, the film advance is made by means of a plunging prong, just like the Voigtlander Vitessa, no mean feat!!!

This sophisticated little thing used a similar system to Agfa's Rapid, so no ready available film for this flashy camera.
