Fervent Soho drinkers will be extra happy to learn that thereâs a new and exciting subterranean spacious alcohol place on Greek Street. Situated right in the heart of things, fully licensed from 5pm until 3AM, and laid out in an amazing, partially labyrinthine layout full of dark walls, hidden second bars, infinity mirrors and futuristic alcoves. As with most things that owner Nathan Lowry is involved with, The Takeover focuses on seasonal, lesser known and high quality booze. Craft beers, unusual spirits - a wall that dispenses delicious wine (yup)â¦if youâre into this shit then come and get INTO this shit >:DÂ
Of course, you actually have to find The Takeover first - they have (intentionally I think...) hidden the bar away behind a tiny black doorway that doesnât really give much away. The catch? The bar's only open for 6 months. Which ties into their official/unofficial mantra: "Whether it's for one day, one week or one month we want you to take over our bar.â. Which means that if you - yes you - fancy renting out an underground bar for something ridiculous, now is your time. I want to see at least one of our readers take them up on this before the 6th month is up...
