1940 Zenith Z-59
This is the battery used in Zenith's infamous 4K400 Upside Down portable radio. Chassis is a bakelite block mounted upside down in the cabinet. It was an early attempt to move away from metal chassis, but it didn't work well. Designed to look like they did before the war--plain brown cover, yellow-gold lettering.
