Installation of Revd Dr George Whyte
On the evening of Tuesday, October 8, 2019, The Revd Dr George Whyte was installed as Chaplain-in-ordinary to her Majesty the Queen. The ceremony took place at Mayfield Salsibury parish church, Edinburgh, where Dr Whyte is a member. Revd Dr Scott McKenna, minister of Mayfield Salisbury, gave the welcome; Revd Neil N Gardner, the call to worship, prayers and readings; Very Revd Dr E Lorna Hood, the sermon, and Very Revd Dr John B Cairns the closing prayers. The installation was performed by Very Revd Professor David Ferguson, Dean of the Chapel Royal in Scotland. The organist was Kate Pearson and the choir was the Mayfield Salisbury Choral Group led by choir master, Walter ThomsonAt the close refreshments were served in the Bill McDonald Hall.
