human, animal, plant,

all the same

all one.

 

people often ask how i have such an affinity for,

a knack for taking care of plants and animals.

it took me a long time to understand that what - to me -

seems simply known, without word, without thought,

with only the commonest of senses,

was not so for many.

 

to explain, i found myself saying:

uhm, we're all ...

alive ...

 

in other words,

life needs food & drink,

light & dark,

warmth & cool,

shaping & culling,

and tender attention.

 

all that is alive

lives by way of the elements:

earth, air, sun, water

& love, the fifth.
