distinctive end of ugly brown rock - overall is 10 cm x 5 cm x 14 cm
This is a rock I found in Live Oak County, recently. Of course, I thought it was petrified wood and it may be. However, there are some distinctive things about this specimen that make it very different from any petrified wood I have ever found in south-Texas. The shape of the end simply does not look like any chunk of petrified wood I have ever found before and I find it difficult to believe it was broken, by nature, into this form. I will keep an open mind about it, for now.
