37611/20308 & 20311-Newport ADJ.
An interesting combination back in the days when Class-66's were still in the future.Freightliner due to a shortage of available Class-47 traction hired in these engines from DRS to plug the gap.Sporting the original version of DRS-Colours 37611/20108 and 20311 rattle past Newpot-ADJ with the evening Pengam (Cardiff) Liner going to Coatbridge.I believe these loco's were replaced at Crewe as normal for this service.Now over 20 years later this view of the yard at Alexander Dock Junction has changed beyond recognition.The wasteland in the backdrop is now houses and the tracks are scarred with the imposition of OHLE for the Class-800 services to Cardiff from Paddington.The view is impossible anyway now due too rampant overgrowth. Oh Well!
