A road to nowhere ...

The road started in the village. We walked along it, pushing Marc in his wheelchair. Gradually the gradient steepened and our stroll became a workout.

 

We passed a picnic bench, overgrown with weeds. Foxgloves in full bloom, a cockerel strutting around its enclosure. The church bell clock struck in the near distance. The road, now a lane, continued to wind around bends hiding the views and destination ahead.

 

We stopped for a while. Silence all around. Gradually the sound of water came to our ears, birds singing to each other. Sheep in nearby fields, the deafening sound of peace and calm.

 

There remain so many questions and decisions we need to make about our future. Questions that are easy to ask, easy to dream about, easy to ...

 

I always talk too much about our story. Marc was poorly at home as you know. He was poorly here while we were away - alarmingly so at times. At home we have many conveniences nearby, but not the opportunity to do something like this walk offered, and other adventures that Marc was eager to experience.

 

One day, I hope we can reach a conclusion that will allow the road we journey along, to open out and become clearer ...
