Steam Locomotives struggle with late season blizzard. March 29-30, 1942: The Palm Sunday Snowstorm marked by as much as 22 inches in the NE in a 24 hour period. I love this shot, you can feel the cold on the gent in the foreground. Shot during wartime with one of Dad's rangefinders when he was 23 years old, a young man about to enter world War Two at what would be Steams last gasp.. These pictures have never been viewed. Though the location is Belleville Township in New Jersey, the 35mm film was made by KODAK in 1941, the date the shot was recorded determined by Meteorological reference, and the magazine held by a young lady, in a previous frame..
