In de Catharijnesingel voor TivoliVredenburg staat een metershoge plastic walvis.
De plastic walvis van 11 meter hoog gemaakt van vijf ton zwerfval uit de oceaan.
Maar het kunstwerk is niet alleen mooi gebouwd. Skyscraper, zoals het kunstwerk officieel heet, heeft ook een doel.
De makers, Studio KCA, willen met het werk aandacht vragen voor de problemen van plastic soep in de oceaan.
Ze verzamelden daarvoor vier maanden lang blauw en wit plastic afval aan de kusten van Hawaii, New York en Zeebrugge.

But the artwork is not only beautifully built. Skyscraper, as the artwork is officially called, also has a purpose.
The makers, Studio KCA, want to draw attention to the problems of plastic soup in the ocean.
For this purpose, they collected blue and white plastic waste on the coasts of Hawaii, New York and Zeebrugge for four months.
