Two Christmas roses after the rain. In this time of year they looks beautiful in the garden :)
Christmas rose (Helleborus niger) is an evergreen perennial flowering plant in the buttercup family, Ranunculaceae. In nature, it occurs in forest meadows and edges of forests in central and southern Europe. It is a plant often grown in flowerbeds, mainly due to its unusual flowering period. Under favorable climatic conditions, Christmas rose blooms at the end of December, however, in the event of frost and snow, it delays its flowering until the first thaw - in February or March. The whole plant is poisonous.

Kwitnące ciemierniki wypatrzone w ogródku. Pięknie wyglądały, zwłaszcza o tej porze roku :)
Ciemiernik biały (Helleborus niger) – gatunek wieloletniej rośliny z rodziny jaskrowatych. W naturze występuje na śródleśnych łąkach i skrajach lasów w środkowej i południowej części Europy. W Polsce jest rośliną uprawianą na rabatach, głównie ze względu na swój nietypowy okres kwitnienia. Przy sprzyjających warunkach klimatycznych w Polsce ciemiernik zakwita pod koniec grudnia, jednakże w przypadku mrozu i śniegu opóźnia swoje kwitnienie do pierwszych odwilży – w lutym bądź w marcu. Cała roślina jest trująca.
