This is a recently found transparency not shared before.
It shows a pair of EE Type Ones hauling a southbound coke working ( probably tripped from Derwenthaugh coke works to Tyne Yard) formed of vacuum braked HTV hoppers .At this time other than a few locations this wagon type had almost been eradicated from the system.
Class 20's were rarely seen on this section of the ECML.
This would have worked by either York or Doncaster based Train Crew as they were the only depots at the time who signed the ECML here and knew class 20's .
This must have been a hurriedly taken image as I was obviously on the wrong side for the Sun!
