This was taken from the late running 1E12 07-55 INV- KX. 43208+43316.
It was a stunning Winters morning. However, the powdery snow made braking conditions truly lethal. We ran at much reduced speed due to the vastly increased braking distances required.
Normal sounds of travel are "muffled" when moving about in these conditions. Its a quite a surreal experience.
In such conditions timekeeping goes out of the window. Safety first, second...... and third!
