AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT
Ludlow Livestock Market in April 1982 when it was still central in the town.
The signage of McCartney Morris and Barker Auctioners and Valuers is dominant.
Glyn Owens a partner with McCartneys states on their website "I started at McCartneys in January 1984. Although employed to run the market at Knighton my first day was spent at Worcester on it’s reopening by McCartney, Morris and Barker. Indeed I spent many interesting and happy days at both Worcester and Ludlow during my early years with the firm. I well remember a decrepit Austin Maxi trundle into Worcester market one Wednesday morning and the farmer open the back door and two pigs emerge from the back seat ready to be sold. Who had then heard of the phrase ‘bio-security’!"
