Face Rock Overlook Viewfinder

Low-tech device (a few welded tubes) show the visitor where various Anasazi ruins are located. At Face Rock Overlook, at Canyon de Chelly National Monument, located in northeast Arizona, inside the Navajo reservation. Several Anasazi ruins can be seen from here.

Canyon de Chelly National Monument contains a monumental canyon system which has been inhabited for two millennia. The Anasazi lived here and in the region from the first century AD to about 1300 AD. The Navajo arrived here around 1400 AD and, except for the years of captivity in Fort Sumner, New Mexico (1864 to 1868), have been here ever since.

From the overlooks to the canyon floor below is about 900 feet (275 m). I visited this place on August 18, 2017.
