Fresco, Monastery of the Holy Trinity, Old Dongola, Sudan, North-east Africa

Room 5 in the north vault : the north part of the vault depicts an image of an archangel and the east wall represent a scene of the Nativity, with the Magi on horseback. The site is being excavated by Polish archaeologists, who were not present when we visited. These were the only frescoes we managed to see - through a hole in the locked door!
