Trophic Interaction - Bird and Worm

The trophic interaction seen in this picture is of a bird eating a worm (sorry it's blurry, the bird was trying to eat the worm). This is an example of a carnivore and an herbivore interaction.

 

The most influential species at my location is the bee. I think they are the most important because plants are the most dominant in this area and for the plants that are considered ground cover would not survive without the help of the bee. The tall trees do not need the help of the bees for their reproduction, but the existence of the other plants that inhabit this area most likely rely on the pollination of bugsand the most prominent pollinator found in my area is the bee.

 

 

If you removed bees from my area, the population of the ground-covering plants would decrease and may eventually die out.

 

 

If you replaced the bee with an invasive species, pollination may still occur, but the invasive species might also target both the ground-covering plants and the trees, leading to a thinning out of my area.

 

 

Three of the organisms I had originally taken a picture of in the first capstone exercise are: a bird, an ant, and moss. Birds are ultimately limited by predators, ants are also ultimately limited by predators, and the moss is ultimately limited by the amount of space they can grow on.
