Jakobkirche - Church of St. Jacob.

The Jakobikirche. traditionally the parish church of the seasfaring community. In comparison with the Marienkirche, it's modest in scale, the only point of similarity being the Gothic wall paintings on its square pillars. Nevertheless, it is rich in works of art, the finest being the Brombse Altar in one of the side aisle chapels, which features a carving of The Crucifixion by Hinrik Brabender and delicate little Flemish-style paintings. Guidebook.

Heinrich Brabender (* around 1467; † around 1537 in Münster (Westphalia) was a sculptor of the late Middle Ages. For further information re on:-

It is very difficult to do all the work such a awe-inspiring interior demands, when there are a number of folk around, who are very anxious to move you out, for their own scheduled activities to commence! Hence no shot of the Sanctuary which was hidden by a screen for videos etc.! I am most grateful for the shots which I was allowed to take.
