Early Life
Christos Mark was born October 15, 1990 to a Greek American mother and an English American father. Born in NYC, Christos is the only child, raised in an Italian family, and fluent in Italian.
Christos started training in music at a very young age. He is gifted and musically talented; he learned to play the sax at the age of eight years old and began training in Opera at the age of ten years old. His vocal training leads him to the Fort Lee High School honors choir where he performed several concert solos.
Christos is multi-talented, in high school he was also a member of the art honor society and a trustee in the international thespian society holding leads in many high school plays and musicals. Christos developed a talent for painting and charcoal art. His upbringing encouraged him to study in Florence where he lived with an Italian family to learn the language.
He also took a renaissance apprenticeship course which created an interest in Egg Tempera and allowed him to learn the classical technique of Frescoes. Christos went on to attend NYU and obtained an undergraduate degree in Hellenic Studies. While attending college, Christos took an interest in playing the guitar adding to his natural musical talents. His college years introduced the beginning of a long lasting love of songwriting and fusing his eastern/Mediterranean background with his American life in the west.
Christos’ strong passion for his Greek heritage feeds his music as much as Greece feeds his soul. He grew up listening to Greek artists, Byzantine hymns from his Greek Orthodox church, and Rock/Blues artists like Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin. His unique style is very much influenced by the spirit of both Europop and the traditional Greek blues, otherwise known as ‘rebetiko’.
Aside from performing, Christos Mark hopes to use his music to help people in Greece who are suffering and in crisis. He desires to bring basic medicine and food to millions of Greeks who have lost jobs and ways of caring for their families. Christos hopes to help promote the heritage of his family’s country and legacy by performing on a global stage.Music Career
Christos considers himself an English version of Greek-Folk pop blended with Europop and Greek Blues. Christos distinctive style infuses musical elements of traditional Greek Folk and Pop with modern dance/electropop elements. He defines himself as a talented pop artist/songwriter.
He has set out to present a rare style by introducing the east to the west by incorporating trap music. His most recent song “Don’t Call it Love” is an English pop Indie-EDM track where he displays his Greek rapping skills over a dance beat making this hit an English EDM/Dance pop track with an element of “Greek Trap”, while also retaining Greek/folk influences and blend.
His style was solidified on his walks around the streets of NYC mainly in the big city’s dance clubs. He passionately mixed electro-dance elements with the rebellious free-spirited soul and rhythm of the Greek “rebetiko”. Christos offers something genuinely unique to mainstream “Top 40” American music while remaining commercially viable in pop culture that is now known and heard by a wide “Top 40″ pop audience.Other Works
Christos Mark has worked with some of the top names in the music business. “Call Me” was produced by the American Producer, WNDRBRD (Grant Michaels) who is currently touring with Selena Gomez. Christos Mark’s executive producer, Tina Shafer, Artistic Director of the New York Songwriter’s Circle, has helped discover Lana Del Rey, Norah Jones, Avril Lavigne and Vanessa Carlton. You can find Christos Mark performing and selling out gigs at some of NY’s most legendary venues like “The Bitter End”

Christos Mark filmed his music video for his single, “Call Me” in Mykonos Greece, with no budget or crew just a camera and director. The music video, despite it’s next to zero budget and independent production was released and not only accepted by VEVO and retweeted to 1.5million followers.
