Just out of view to the northeast corner of this photo is a cove called Eel Garden, where dive boats filled with tourists from all over the world, congregate each night, with the exception of high surf conditions. This area is small cove is famous for night diving to see manta rays, that come to feed on zooplankton attracted to the lights. The big rays are harmless and perform what seems like an underwater ballet, sometimes brushing against the divers in the process! In addition, garden eels (hence the name Eel Garden), moray eels, fish of all sorts, dolphins, and an occasional seal have been known to show up!
