MEPI near the end of my R&N vacation has the same consist as it had on day 1 with a pair of GP30's (GP39RN's) homeward bound near Falls. The high hillsides in some backgrounds are still nearly bare but riverside could almost be described as post-peak. By this time of the year the sun angle situation was becoming the biggest problem when photographing the return trip of the Mehoopany job.
On duty at 8am in Pittston they make a round trip to the huge Proctor & Gamble plant in Mehoopany and usually stops to switch the R&N's transload warehouse at Ransom (not far from the west end of Coxton yard) on the way back. This stretch of former LV mainline is now known as the Susquehanna Branch.
Lighting is very tough on the morning westbound (PIME) but the afternoon return trip west (MEPI) becomes a southbound train 3 times during it's return trip as it follows bends in the adjacent Susquehanna River.
