Architects: Schultze & Weaver (1926) Also designed the Waldorf-Astoria in New York

This 22-story building at 111 Sutter St. is best known as the location of the fictional office of "Maltese Falcon" detective Sam Spade. In 2000 Ellis Partners undertook a total historic makeover that would restore 111 Sutter to the way it looked when it first opened in 1927. This photo shows one of six bas relief medallions in buff-glazed terra cotta depicting the female figure decoratively surrounded with garlands of fruit: Leo Lentelli, 1879-1961, sculptor.(1926) Detail: www.flickr.com/photos/9405610@N02/3172889343/
