Bleeding Hearts

It rained most of yesterday morning so just hung around the house. About 11 the clouds thinned so Toots and I went for a ride. Was a little late for decent birding so I thought I would stick the 100 macro on and do something other than birds. Did I tell you I love this lens on the 7D with live view?

Anyway we stopped at the Palmer visitor center to see if any thing was blooming. These guys and several others were in full bloom. There was a good breeze so I had to spend some time waiting for them to settle down. Shot a bit around there and headed out in the boonies to get some wild roses and bluebells. I found a huge patch of Dandelions that had lots of bees and a couple swallowtails so stopped to shoot them a bit. Let Toots out to do her biz. Was in a place where it was safe to let her roam. After shooting a bit I looked around for her and not to be seen. Gave her a holler and here she came out of the brush. OH Man!!!! she had found something to roll in and the smell would have driven a maggot of a gut pile. OH MY. So that was the end of my shooting. Loaded her up and came to the house. Gave her a big outside bath. Dried her off enough she could come in the house and not roll in the grass first. She loves to do that.

Cleaned up the bird yards and filled all the feeders. Got to looking at the grass and it was really getting tall so mowed about half. The worst half. ;)

Was not what I had planned but hey ya do what ya gotta do.

Its about 5:30 here and I have sun so Toots and I are off on our next adventure. Catch ya this eve
