Blow up my band a “Battle of the bands” type contest for original bands only. It is designed to take one band and give them the media coverage, publicity and tools to establish or advance the bands momentum throughout 2014. It will consist of 8-12 weekly live “elimination” events. Scheduled on Wednesday and or Thursday evenings at several metro Detroit clubs. Then one final event to determine the grand prize winner. Each event (except final) will feature 4 bands

 

Once Registration is closed scheduling will commence

 

All attempts will be made to schedule bands to compete at a venue that is close to their home area.

 

Set Times: Each band must create a Facebook event for EACH of their performances.

72 hrs before each show, RSVp’s to FB events will be tabulated and the band with the most fans registered will get first choice of set times( & so on). They will have 24hrs to pick their slot. If no time is chosen DL staff will choose.

 

Each band will play a 30 min set. Bands will be giving 25 min to set up.

 

Events:

Winners of each event will be determined by a combination of a panel of judges and attendance.

 

At each event a winner will be chosen to advance to the next round.

 

Scoring for finals will be the same as the elimination rounds.

Judging

Each Battle will be Judged by a panel of 2-4 judges per round.

 

Bands will be judged in several categories on a scale from 1-10 Below is an example procedure.

Band with highest score wins the round.

In case of numeric tie... highest fan count wins.
