November 2, 1985 was a blessedly nicer day in eastern Iowa. Westbound CNW train PRNPT is seen just west of Mount Vernon, coming down the hill on the still-jointed westbound track. This day, all three units on PRNPT were 5500-class GP40's. Traditional yellow 5506 was leading Zito yellows 5517 and 5521. I like the engineer wearing a traditional railroader's hat, perhaps a Kromer, and the head brakeman looking away or perhaps hiding from me.
