With NS rebuilding all of their standard cab SD70s, the only ones that, for the moment, will be in existence are the 36 remaining on CN's roster. Despite these units being fairly illusive, there's currently a dozen or so (the majority still being in IC paint) currently assigned to the Kirk pool. Mostly being used on various transfers in and around Chicagoland (such as these two heading west to Joliet with L521), these units have been drawing the attention of rail fans from all over the midwest. According to various rumors floating around the company, these units will likely be dispersed once all of the new units CN has ordered arrive on the property, but only time will tell what will happen to them in the coming months.
