Illustrate Your Mind
Encounters, experiences and meetings.
Fine Line- Looking down hands on face and Looking down head in hands (2)
I produced these two drawings in fine line and this has allowed me to cross hatch and mark make, to produce detailed in depth drawings. I am trying to show encounters with fear. My model Lauren is representing fear of low self-esteem; she is trapped and has become irrational with her thoughts. To display this I have used blood all over here face and hands as at this point she is in a stage of total shock and delusion, an encounter with herself when you’re at you darkest moment. I think the harshness, darkness and strength within these drawings shows her emotional state of fear and anxiety. I think these drawings have been successful as they clearly represent an encounter and experience. I have learnt that from this work I can clearly represent an emotion through the media I use. My intentions whilst producing these two images were to show her fear of being seen. I have photographed my model looking down or into her hands to avoid eye contact with the camera. To further portray my intentions I have produced these two images in fine line which is black. This gives the images a dark and harsh aspect representing her hiding and that she wants to be in the dark for she doesn’t want to been seen or meet the real her. I am pleased with the success of my two drawings as the mark making is strong and shows the strong emotion of the model. In comparison with my colour pencil drawing the contrast in colour makes a difference. Having these two drawings in black and white gives it a more serious feel, you can see the devastation of fear within the model and this is the message I am trying to send through my work.
