2000 T. Murray Custom Electric Guitar

Custom left-handed guitar created by Michigan luthier Tom Murray.

As Tom, my brother Rich, and I hatched the idea, this instrument became a combination of our favorites: the beginnings and general pickup configuration of a Telecaster, with a swept-out cutaway and upper bout inspired by Jazzmasters and Firebirds, with a heavier body and upper-mount switch from the Les Paul school of thought. The pickups are both Seymour Duncan single-coil-size humbuckers. This guitar saw much stage time in the late 90's and served as the main live room guitar for many tracks on the pure suspension "give in" album.

In this shot, you can see the string-through construction, the 5-bolt bridge, the maple center strip that allowed us to create the larger body, and the quilted maple neck.
