The crossing

The track looking ahead leads to downtown Chicago by way of the Rock Island Line, arriving at the La Salle Street station. The tracks crossing, is the Heritage Corridor line, also going into downtown Chicago arriving at Union Station. The building to the left is where the switchmen reside. This rail line also is home to the Amtrak and many freight lines.
