MoPacer's 4.5L HO EFI Stroker Engine
WWW.MOPACER.COM This is the MOPACER (Mopar + Pacer) engine in PURPLEX. It is a 4.5L H.O. Jeep engine out of a 1995 Grand Cherokee. Of course, Chrysler did not own or produce the 4.0L engine until they bought American Motors in 1987. So it was fitting (literally) to build this engine for the Pacer. The original Pacer motor mount brackets bolted right onto the 1995 Jeep 4.0L block. In fact, the crankshaft and rods in this engine are out of a 1985 AMC/Jeep 258 engine. This combination added 1/2" of stroke and 33 cubic inches to the 4.0L H.O. Jeep/Chrysler engine. It makes tremendous torque and gets 27 MPG @ 70 mph on regular unleaded fuel!
